A 20+ year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Tom Zalewski has deep experience in the mobile device arena across numerous industries. Tom has helped pioneer various wireless solutions and services, including telematics product offerings for the long-haul trucking industry, the first dual-mode CDMA mobile devices, and contactless payment solutions for the retail, hospitality and payment industries. He has led many of the first NFC & RFID mobile pilots, and has presented on mobile/digital payments & credential management topics at dozens of conferences and seminars. As a Subject Matter Expert, Tom been interviewed and quoted in numerous industry articles and various publications.


Tom was Chief Marketing Officer at SK C&C USA (dba CorFire), the mobile services subsidiary of SK C&C, a global Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) company. CorFire developed and launched several successful commercial firsts in the mobile payments space before being acquired by an Austin, Texas technology & financial services company. Tom was also co-founder and President of Venyon Inc., a Nokia-funded joint venture that introduced the first secure OTA credential management service for financial institutions, retail, transportation and enterprise businesses employing mobile-based access control solutions.

Before establishing Venyon, Tom was in various management and strategic roles with Nokia. As Director of Business Development for the Americas region, Tom worked closely with Nokia technology leads to develop, position and sell end-to-end services and solutions to retail, transportation, wireless service providers, enterprise clients and 3rd party providers. Technologies included Mobile Payments, Machine-to-Machine/M2M (IoT), Location Based Services, Field Workforce, Mobile Asset Management solutions, Multimedia Services, Mobile Marketing, Mobile Campaign Management, Imaging, Gaming and Mobile Internet. Tom has also introduced new products for Samsung, Siemens and Qualcomm.


Tom is a graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology. He has authored numerous patents, including the SmartCoverTM, a customizable mobile device faceplate with an embedded RFID transponder.
